BullyVest

$ 69.95

The BullyVest is halfway between a CoyoteVest and a SpikeVest except it has no collar. It uses snap buckles like the CoyoteVest but has chest and throat flaps like the SpikeVest and it's compatible with our other accessories like the CoyoteWhiskers and HawkShield. To add neck protection you can use it with a spiked collar (like one of our CoyoteCollars) or with the matching BullyHarness. Click Here to learn how the BullyHarness and BullyVest can work together.

The BullyVest is very easy to put on, offers great protection for the torso, and it works well with your existing collar or harness. You can use your existing harness over the vest or under the vest -- in the latter case there's a secure access flap for connecting your leash to the harness.

The BullyVest includes a set of 2 removable chrome spike strips for the sides of the back. The spikes are made from very hard plastic and they're not dangerous to handle, but with enough pressure they're sharp enough to hurt. The spikes provide an important line of defense but Velcro makes them easy to remove whenever you want.

The BullyVest is entirely constructed with super tough puncture resistant Cordura® fabric that can resist sharp canine teeth. It has reflective features that make your dog more visible at night and it's water repellent and there are no metal parts that can rust. It's hand-washable with a mild detergent and air dry in shade. Do not put in dryer.

Choosing a Size

Please note: If you're using the BullyVest with the BullyHarness both sizes must be the same. In this case you should first choose the correct size BullyVest based on your dogs back length and then order the same size BullyHarness.

Measure the length of the back from the shoulder to the start of the tail (do not include the neck) -- make sure the dog is standing up and not sitting. Hold the ruler straight do not bend it down over the dogs behind. We have found that measuring the back length by following the dog's back curvature can add to the length and throw off the sizing. The vests are designed with a straight back and do not have a curve to them. So when measuring, it's important that your dog is standing and you're measuring a straight shot from the front shoulder to the start of the tail without curving the measuring tape. The collar and the chest are very adjustable as we make the straps extra long. If you're purchasing a BullyVest as a gift we do offer gift cards that can help you keep your secret.

After measuring if you're still uncertain on which size to get, it's usually better to go with the smaller size. We receive more returns/exchanges with the vest being too large rather than too small.

If your still not sure we can help. Just email us your measurements and a good side-view picture of your dog and we can give our best suggestion.

Keeping Louie Safe

"Walking Louie before six each morning was much scarier before I bought his Coyote Harness. We’ve seen coyotes three mornings in the past few months. I think they must be afraid of him."

I can almost breathe again

"This is a really really long review. Short version - get it you wont regret it. I was waiting before writing a review to see how it was. It's been nearly a month now and so far im really happy and feel so much safer. I feel like it will give me those few extra seconds that will help me protect my dog however i really hope i never have to find out. The collar sits high up on his neck and goes right around. I had to only use one row of spikes as they were rubbing on his ears but i also got the spile collar that i put on to protect the front as well. If you have ever been in an unprovocted dog attack on a public street where a dog just ran at your dog for no reason from around a cnr with no time to respond then you know your walks are ruined from now on. My poor puppy survived but he's not quite the same and I'm definitely not. I live in beach side city so no coytees. . worse we have so many agressive dogs and entitled irresponsible owners that we have 2 dog attacks a day. I had no idea that could be possible. I have changed the times i walk, i carry citronella spray and a pop out umbrella which i highly rate as it also gives you time and a spare lead but you don't have time for these things if you are jumped by a dog intent on killing your dog and you are just trying to save your dog who is screaming terrorised. That look on your dog's face In the hospital is heartbreaking. It's like why didn't you save me. . I researched alot after my poor 10mth old puppy was attacked and read every comment and review I could find. Hes been also run at on another two occasions by agressive killing machines but i was able to pick him up and then used umbrella, but i was so worried I just didn't want to walk him any more cos I couldnt protect him. The company is honest. I forgot something and put in another order and they put it all together for me and refunded my postage. They didn't have to do that. They patiently helped me will all my questions and helped me figure out the sizing and what would be best for my dog based on what I was worried about. I live in a hot climate and the jacket is light and my dog doesn't mind wearing it at all. . he is pretty tolerant of my antics though. He does remind me of a flying wizard of oz monkey though. . The jacket covers all the way to his tail and covers the bit where he got attacked around his stomach and flank. Yes maybe at the front he is a bit vulnerable so I make him wear the coyote collar as well. I read someone said an agressive dog will rip the spikes and whiskers right off. Maybe it will but so far they haven't moved and if it wants to bite that then it hasn't bitten my dog yet. If you've been in a dog attack you know any second is Gold. I still walk around head on a swivel and sometimes I still wig out and just pick him that way he doesn't twig I'm a bit scared. However I feel like I can breathe a bit now and each time we get a bit braver. The products are really well made, I did try to stab the material with scissors and nothing happened. We been caught in the rain once and nothing rusted or fell off and he was dry when we got back other than his head. I was keeping my dog away from others he knows being mindful of other dogs and the spikes and things but so long as the other dog doesn't play rough and I monitor it, his gear doesn't seem to hurt other dogs. It's only if you press down it spikes you. I do take the collar off just so he doesn't poke a dog in the eye. I have not tested in the ocean and wont cos i dont want to wreck it. Sand and salt and velcro im not sure about. Anyway my verdict. A very big thankyou and yes definitely worth it. I really appreciate the care and intelligence that has gone into these products. If you are worried about the quality don't be. The bully vest you can wear own harness and I put the bully harness and vest together and still put his own harness underneath. The only thing I have found is the vest lifts a bit at the back but I don't think a dog could get its jaws under it. And yes his head is not covered and the front is a bit open but it beats him running around in his fur and from my experience dog attack neck and then flank. I feel like with this vest it will keep trying to find a spot and in that time. . well you have time to actually do something. I feel like I'm doing all I can to protect him as best I can. So thank you coyote vest. Thankyou so much. I purchased bully vest and harness and coyote collar and he wears them altogether every walk."

The vest keeps coming off

"The vest keeps coming off without the accessory straps, but otherwise I feel like it would actually protect my dog from the unleashed strays in my neighbourhood. Thanks CoyoteVest for making this thing!"

Yard Freedom for My Dogs

"Have two 10 pound chihuahuas that I was always afraid for them because of the hawks and also eagles. Now with their vest and whiskers on they stay in the yard as long as they like. Just added hawk eyes to their vests. They are the weirdest but safest dogs in the neighborhood!"

Coyote/hawk vest

"I love this vest!! Tom is 5lbs of fury, but still needs protection. This vest was a game changer for our dog park, camping, walking trips. He is mostly off leash so this helps me out. Everyone loves this vest when they see it on him, if he could write he’d be signing autographs! He is very popular now in his yellow vest."

Q&A

What is the difference between the codura fabric on your spikevest and bullyvest and the Kevlar on the coyotevest? Our 5lb chihuahua is older, has no teeth, and is blind in one eye, so we think the collar on the coyotevest would be too much for him. We're leaning towards the bullyvest and a coyote collar (and hawk shield for hiking).
Hi Nicole, They are both a stab-resistant material and equally effective. We have all sorts of breeds and ages wearing the CoyoteVest and BullyVest. They both weigh literally ounces..Some fur parents prefer one attachment and others prefer a collar and a vest. Only you know what's best for your fur baby. We are here to help should you have any other questions, you can email support@coyotevest.com or call 858-935-9069. Sincerely, CoyoteVest Team
I see that it says it will protect against canine teeth but is the cordura fabric used in the bullyVest resistant to hawk and eagle talons?
In the worst case no. Talons can be very thin and sharp and the strike can occur with great force. We recommend adding the HawkShield to the top of the BullyVest. It has three layers of Kevlar and provides extra strength to resist talons.
My pet is a Labrador retriever that weighs 74 lbs. She has been repeatedly attacked by small and large dogs over the 8 years I have had her, recently a few days ago by a Pit Bull. Would your product in a Medium size fit her?
Thank you for reaching out to us. 😊 We'd be happy to help find the right protection for your furry friend! For our stab-resistant vests (CoyoteVest and SpikeVest) we have sizing from a Mini to a Large - and dogs wearing our pet body armor range from approximately 2.5 pounds to 60 pounds. The size Large is for a dog that weighs approximately up to 55 pounds but it depends mainly on the dog's back length whether or not the vest will fit. If your dog weighs more than 55 pounds, you may want to look at a studded or spiked collar. This would help give your furry friend protection around the neck, where the more severe injuries occur. We recommend you measure your dog standing - neck, chest, waist circumference and the back length. Measure the length of the back from the shoulder to the start of the tail (do not include the neck) -- make sure the dog is standing up and not sitting. Hold the ruler straight do not bend it down over the dog's behind. 👍 Our sizing charts are under the description of the two main styles of vests which include the removable spikes. I am wanting to buy (2) bully vests. If I buy the whiskers too is there a place for them on the vest in addition to the spike row? Thank you!
Hello! Sorry for the delay in responding as we're receiving hundreds of messages a day and operating with a skeleton staff during this pandemic. 😊 Yes, the BullyVest comes with 2 rows of spikes for the back of the vest. There's a center strip of velcro where you can attach accessories such as the CoyoteWhiskers, CoyoteSpike Strip, HawkEyes, and LED Safety Light. The HawkShield also works with the BullyVest and needs to be the same size as the vest. Please feel free to message with any other questions or, call us at (858) 935-9069. We're here to help! 💞
hey there! does the bullyvest come in large?
Thank you for your inquiry! Our BullyVest and BullyHarness are not available in a size Large; however, the CoyoteVest and SpikeVest do come in size Large. Feel free to reach out with any other questions! We're here to help. 💗🐶
