The SpikeJacket uses a similar design as our popular SpikeVest but it's been greatly enhanced to not only help keep your dog safe but also keep your dog warm when it's cold outside. What sets it apart from the SpikeVest is the sewn in polar fleece liner and a chest guard that helps keep the heat inside and the elements outside. With the addition of a third layer of cozy fleece the SpikeJacket gives us peace of mind knowing our dog is staying warm and protected.

Like all our body armor the SpikeJacket includes a full set of removable chrome spikes. Spikes for the neck and set (2) Spike strips for the sides of the back. The spikes are made from very hard plastic and they're not dangerous to handle, but with enough pressure they're sharp enough to hurt. The spikes provide an important line of defense but Velcro makes them easy to remove whenever you want.
The SpikeJacket is constructed with a super tough puncture resistant ballistic fabric that can resist sharp canine teeth and a large collar reinforced with genuine DuPont™ Kevlar®. The inside of the jacket is lined with high quality polar fleece. It wraps around your dog easily and stays snug and secure with two wide Velcro belts.
There's a D-ring for connecting your leash and reflective features that make your dog more visible at night. It's water repellent and there are no metal parts that can rust. It's hand-washable with a mild detergent and can be air dried in the shade*. Do not put it in the dryer.
DuPont™ and Kevlar® are trademarks or registered trademarks of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company.
*Color topper may fade overtime in sun. Please note that the fluorescent orange fabric will fade quicker due to the yellow and orange hues. This color change does not impact the quality or effectiveness of the vest (fading similar to hunters vest, hats and safety vest.)
If you're concerned with wild predators our CoyoteWhiskers and HawkShield accessories are highly recommended for the SpikeJacket. For additional throat protection we recommend our CoyoteCollar which can be used with the SpikeJacket or by itself.
Choosing a Size
Measure the length of the back from the shoulder to the start of the tail (do not include the neck) -- make sure the dog is standing up and not sitting. Hold the ruler straight do not bend it down over the dogs behind. We have found that measuring the back length by following the dog's back curvature can add to the length and throw off the sizing. The vests are designed with a straight back and do not have a curve to them. So when measuring, it's important that your dog is standing and you're measuring a straight shot from the front shoulder to the start of the tail without curving the measuring tape. If you're purchasing as a gift we do offer gift cards that can help keep your secret.
